About the artist

Yinuo Li (Nuo) is a Beijing-born visual artist based between digital sculpture and oil painting. She graduated from the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London in 2020. Her practice merges the materiality of painting with the precision of digital sculpture. Working between Blender, Nomad Sculpt, and oil painting, she transforms digitally constructed forms into emotionally charged portraits on canvas, creating a dialogue between virtual imagery and traditional media.

Her work is recognized for its intentionally distorted female figures: enlarged eyes and lips, with the absence of noses and eyebrows. These “missing” features allow the figures to function as vessels for collective emotion, inviting viewers to project their own memories and emotional experiences onto the work. Existing between vulnerability and self-repair, her portraits explore emotional excess, softness, control, and contemporary Asian femininity within social and aesthetic structures.

What began as a pursuit of control and perfection has gradually evolved into an embrace of vulnerability — a space where personal narratives can take shape, and where the stories of women can be told.
